About the Space

A permaculture and wilds resonant farm on the north western lower peninsula of Michigan in film friendly Benzie County. The West farm is 60+ acres and the East farm is 200+ acres. West farm is primarily ridge top highlands with a large contemporary barn and smaller workshop both sided in aged cedar. The second floor of the barn (the Cathedral) is 80' x 50' with plywood floors, dimensional lumber columns, rafters and a high, plywood ceiling. There are 8 windows looking north and 8 looking south. The Cathedral is the only interior space available, our primary offering is the expansive wilds outside. To the north is a 20 acre un-tilled meadow with a panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The northern edge of the property slopes steeply down to 900 feet of wild shoreline on shallow Long Lake. To the south the property overlooks Crystal Lake and slopes down past a conifer ridge to an antique apple orchard and pasture. Running along the eastern ridge is a natural fence constructed of timber slash and to the west is a forest. The East Farm is highland rolling forest sloping steeply down with springs, a creek and shoreline along Rush Lake. At least 7 completely unique wild and rural environments in one location. We'll consider a significant discount on our daily rate for independent projects and multiple day productions.
