About the Space

This church is a historic church that dates back to 1854. The current campus resides on nearly 2 acres in downtown Downey with a 600 seat sanctuary, three large meeting spaces, many school classrooms, offices, and ample parking. Parts of the campus are like vintage time capsules that will launch you back into different eras like the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Some of these spaces remain largely untouched with era specific décor filling the rooms. Our sanctuary was constructed in 1954 and is within the mid-century modern architectural church design. The sanctuary is a sacred space with stained glass, warm lighting, wooden pews, historic bell tower, a balcony, and high cathedral ceilings. Our fellowship hall was built sometime in the 50s and features a stage with black background and a side kitchen. Our education building was built in two segments in the 50's and 60's. It features a lounge, preschool, and three floors of spaces. These floors include classrooms, offices, kitchens, a robotics room, storage room, etc. The church campus also includes a closed courtyard, playground, and 87 spaces of parking. It resides in downtown Downey with additional non-metered street parking as well as walking distance to many restaurants and Porto's. We are open to rentals of most spaces on campus. There are some buildings and floors of the education building that can be rented in whole. Additionally, if interior changes to spaces are desired, we are open and flexible. We do have a Monday through Friday Preschool on campus so some spaces will not be accessible during school hours, but they can be utilized after hours and on weekends. Lastly, we are also open to size, scope, and budgets of renters. We have flexible pricing. Your rentals will support this historic church as it continues to serve the community.
