About the Space

This Studio is a purpose-built film and photography studio in Toronto, designed by working filmmakers to meet the demands of high-end commercial, narrative, and branded content production. From lighting infrastructure to client comfort, every detail of the space is crafted for real-world production efficiency and creativity. The main studio features an open shooting space with high ceilings and black sound-treated walls, offering full acoustic control and a neutral visual environment. Ideal for both creative and technical work, the space is fully blacked out and features a rigging-ready, pre-lit grid that saves valuable time during lighting setups. Power infrastructure includes multiple dedicated 120V Edison circuits, as well as 200A 3-phase Camlock power with distribution options, supporting everything from high-draw LED fixtures to full-service production and craft trucks. Whether you're operating a small crew or bringing in a full unit, Masterkey is built to scale with your needs. We also offer a portable LED volume wall upon request — ideal for virtual production, interactive backgrounds, or stylized commercial work. The wall is built with 2.6mm pixel pitch panels, each 192x192 pixels, and can be customized in size and configuration to fit your creative needs with our LED volume technicians who helped build many volume walls in Ontario. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, green room-wardrobe and makeup area, and accessible restrooms. For client-facing work, we offer a private boardroom with an OLED TV for meetings or creative approvals with dedicated client monitor room for comfortable real-time viewing during shoots. For productions requiring technical precision or stylized camera work, Masterkey houses a robotic motion control arm, capable of executing high-speed, repeatable movements for product cinematography, VFX passes, or motion-controlled narrative shots. Gear access is streamlined with our in-house inventory of professional lighting, grip, and camera support equipment. Available for rent on-site are Nanlux and Aputure fixtures, Titan Tubes, Lightmats, modifiers, frames, and more. We also operate a 5-ton G&E truck package, available with experienced swing or driver/tech crew, ensuring a fully integrated workflow from load-in to wrap. At the heart of Masterkey is Setside, our cozy on-site café and lounge that provides cast and crew with a space to relax, hold meetings, or enjoy a coffee between takes. It’s also a great space for talent holding or casual client interaction, giving productions a warm, boutique feel. Our ground-level facility makes load-in and load-out simple, with wide doors designed for easy transport of large gear, carts, or set pieces. We offer ample parking on-site and nearby, accommodating crews of all sizes.
