Buzzy live music venue with regular gigs, plus a menu focusing on steaks and Tex-Mex classics. It is a historical hotspot for Brisbane’s burgeoning music and art scenes. Set up in the early ’90s by Ric Frearson, a local artist, it was first used as an art exhibit space, and was soon to include regular band residencies by some of Brisbane’s most infamous music alumni. National and international performers to note since including The Microphones, The John Steel Singers, Velociraptor, DZ Deathrays, Yves Klein Blue, I Heart Hiroshima, The Mint Chicks, The Presets, The Grates, Straight Arrows, Violent Soho, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cloud Control, The Brunettes, and many more.
Our Restaurant features three very distinctive spaces: Upstairs, Downstairs, and Backyard. Whether you’re looking to book a unique private function with a view, a gathering in our backyard to watch the newly minted stage in action, or if you’re a band looking to play a part in of our rich unfolding history – we have you sorted. The space has an incredible amount of character. I would describe it as grungey and colorful. With the iconic clothesline decked out in fairy lights, it is certainly a sight to behold.
