About the Space

Our neoclassical home is set an a hillside acre in the verdant and peaceful 5 points neighborhood of Athens Georgia, (1 1/2 hours from Atlanta). We have had two films here and the crew was able to park the trailers on the driveway and on the street. (Free parking). Large crews, additional parking can be negotiated for a nominal fee at one of the Churches within a 1/2 mile. We have a koi pond with a waterfall, and a 1/2 acre front yard and another 1/2 acre garden in the back. The home has been host to many gatherings (weddings, rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, poetry readings, graduation parties). Formerly the home of Dr. Hugh Kenner and his wife Mary Ann, it is now operated by his daughter Lisa and primarily used for events, filming and gatherings. Dr Kenner's 50 groundbreaking modernist poetry books and some of his favorite poetry selections are on display in the den. He is most noted as the foremost scholar on James Joyce. DETAILS: - 3 queen beds, 2 double beds, 1 queen couch bed and a roll-away bed. - 3 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms. - 3 working fireplaces and an outdoor fire pit - Well equipped with cooking accoutrements, 2 refrigerators.
