Modernity meets old world charm in this spectacular hilltop property that's perfect for photoshoots, filming, small events and meetings. Tiered landscaping offers endless staging options, as do the home's luminous interiors, with their abundant light, vibrant colors, spacious open-floor plan and intimate corners.
INDOORS you’ll find three-story windows (tons of natural light), 25-foot-high vaulted ceilings, a six-foot cascading crystal chandelier, and a corner library furnished with a wooden stepladder to reach the upper shelves. The house’s curved stairway and balustrades offer countless arresting perspectives that dazzle the eyes.
OUTDOORS, you’ll find cobbled garden paths, cascading flowers, and an Italian fountain, as well as a sweeping 75-foot stone stairway that curves down to the pool and the shaded koi pond, complete with lily pads and mini waterfall. Rustic back stairs also curve down to the pond from the garden path above.
There are three levels of outdoor decking comprising four separate decks. These include two upper decks attached to the main floor of the house (one of these is a long catwalk balcony) with panoramic views of nearby hills and DTLA. The main deck just off the dining room has a glass table, porch swing and hammock.
The home’s MAIN LEVEL has an open floor plan.
This includes the KITCHEN and DINING SPACE, which feature mid-century Danish dining room furniture, white leather stools, a Caesarstone kitchen island, and accent-color walls of apple green and orchre.
The sun-filled LIVING ROOM has walls of windows and mirrors that bathe the space in abundant natural light (all of the windows have blinds). Persian rugs and mid-century furniture lend rich hues to the bright interior. A ceiling-mounted projector and large 100-square-inch pull-down screen can be used for presentations.
The main level also has a DRESSING/CLOAK ROOM with an inverted curving wall. It includes a garment/coat rack, full-length mirror and adjoining bathroom.
The ENTRY-LEVEL FLOOR compromises six spaces:
1. ENTRANCE/LANDING: A glass front door opens onto breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows with extensive views of the property, nearby hills, and the DTLA skyline farther beyond. The left and right balustrades double as balcony railings above the home’s atrium-style center.
2. RIGHT ALCOVE: To the immediate right of the front entrance are three steps to an alcove featuring a large, multi-circle mirror. Just beyond that is a balcony-like seating area. It overlooks the lower level and is furnished with a black leather arm chair, Persian rug and barrister bookcase. Two more bookcases cattycorner each other below the stairs leading to the third-floor atelier.
3. CURVED CORRIDOR: To the left of the front entrance is a short hallway with a curved grey wall and balustrade. Both face the three-story windows and overlook the living room below.
4. CORNER LIBRARY: Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves cover the entire wall in this recessed corner, with top shelves accessible by a library ladder. The space includes an antique secretary desk and ticking-stripe vintage chair. Adjacent to the library hangs a gilt-framed mirror above a larger antique desk.
5. MASTER BEDROOM: Features Mediterranean blue walls, Persian rugs, a vaulted ceiling, and small private balcony deck. MUST REQUEST IN ADVANCE -- ADD-ON COST.
6. TOP FLOOR ATELIER: Small narrow loft just below the eves & above the chandelier, where striking arial shots can be taken.
