This was a cozy studio! Very spacious and I appreciated all the amenities it came with such as speakers and AC. A lot of reviews say it’s a bit hard to find but it’s pretty easy imo. If you can head directly to Salon Luz de Luna (1224 S Broadway Los Angeles, CA 90015 United States) I would say head straight there and then find parking where you can because that’s where the entrance of the building is (next to the salon) The actual bldg address takes you to the opposite side of the entrance to the bldg. If you have directions to the salon you’ll be able to save yourself a bit of a walk if you find parking nearby. I’d also say go before sun down because the area can be a bit dangerous especially if you’re going alone. Also there may be other classes in session during your reservation, so you may hear their music and/or they may hear yours. I didn’t mind it though.

I used this location to film a portion of my short film it was a great space very easy to access and the host is extremely responsive and helpful answering any questions. A note for anybody that is filming here and wanting to capture clean audio since this is of course a dance studio there are sometimes dance classes who play very loud music, we were able to shoot in between the songs so it was no issue but just something to be mindful of and plan accordingly.

Cheap. The rate is less than most places. The dance floor is good enough to dance. However, I had to pay for parking on the street.

I had a fantastic experience shooting at Smooth Wood floor Dance Room 2 DTLA - book4dance! The space was exactly as advertised—clean, spacious, and equipped with beautiful wood floors that captured light perfectly in our photos and video. The large mirrors added great depth to our shots, and the natural lighting made everything look even better on camera. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive, making the booking and check-in process seamless. They were attentive to our needs and provided clear instructions for accessing the location, which made everything stress-free. For anyone considering this space for their production: arrive a little early to take advantage of the natural light in the morning or late afternoon, and bring extension cords if you have a lot of gear (there are outlets, but it helps with flexibility). There’s plenty of room to move around, so it’s perfect for dance shoots or any project that needs open space. Highly recommend this location for its professionalism, versatility, and overall positive vibe! I’ll definitely be booking here again.
