About the Space
Located in Castaic, California ***it is included in the 30-mile zone*** The 200-acre ranch is a hidden, secluded gem yet only 12 minute drive from the 5 FRWY/126 HWY Newhall Ranch Road Exit. The home was built in 1911 and is situated 2,200 feet from the main entrance and features three bedrooms, 2 baths a wood burning fireplace in a rustic Santa Fe style, Parking facilities for many vehicle including heavy equipment. Four large base camps to choose from and a Heliport landing strip. The property is situated in a beautiful rural setting nestled among many mature Oak Trees, beautiful valleys with mountaintop mini pads for lighting and camera settings. Some mountaintops with pads reaching 2000 plus feet of elevation with amazing views.

Silver Strand Ranch was a fantastic filming location for our recent short film. The property is beautiful, with a wide variety of well-maintained areas that provide excellent production value. Whether you're looking for rustic exteriors, open landscapes, or versatile ranch settings, there's a lot to work with. Our cast and crew were also very comfortable — the holding area was spacious, air-conditioned, and made for a great home base during a hellishly hot weekend of shooting. Carlos, the host, was communicative throughout the process and genuinely accommodating. He was easy to reach, responsive to questions, and worked with us to make our production run smoothly. Great guy! My only note for future productions is to be very clear about exactly which areas of the property are included in your rental. Some of the photos on the listing are NOT covered in the listed rate. We were required to pay additional fees to use the entire listing, which I must say was well worth it! Overall, I'd absolutely recommend Silver Strand Ranch. It's a terrific location with a helpful host... just be sure to have a detailed conversation upfront about which specific filming areas are included in your rental and whether any portions of the property carry additional costs.
