About the Space
The venue you're looking at is a very red, bordello-style bar/lounge located in Greenwich Village, and the Sophia seating area is an exclusive section of our larger main lounge. The pictured area is comfortable for groups of 20 to 30 and consists of two grouping of couches, chairs, benches, and cocktail tables. There’s easy access to the garden (open year round and heated in the cooler months) and cocktail service is available. Table reservations are $50/hour, and there are no bottle service requirements or bar guarantees (though you're welcome to run a tab if you wish). There is generally a four hour minimum. Our aim is to give you the event you want at a price you can afford. Birthdays, surprise parties, anniversaries, engagement parties, bachelorettes, book signings, launches and more – we offer expert assistance in organizing any event to your specifications and do our best to help make it memorable. There is no kitchen, though you're welcome to bring in outside catering. Certain restrictions apply, so please ask when you book. If you choose to bring in food there is an additional $100 cleaning fee, though we can waive that on occasion. We always have fabulous music, a sultry, red-lit ambiance, and no crazy door policy. We try to make things easy and keep prices reasonable so that you get to relax and enjoy your night.

If you are looking for a fun and chic spot to host an event or party I would definitely recommended Madame X. We rented tables on Halloween and had a great time dancing and vibing inside or in the outside space. The music was loud but a fire playlist. Only downside was the organizational system to keep random people from sitting in our reserved areas. Since it was so busy and people are allowed to walk through to the back there was a lot of confusion as people saw empty couches and thought they could just sit. Security was helpful in moving people out but it was a lot to have to be constantly telling people this was a private space. If you are there for a night that isn't one of the craziest parties of the year it would probably be fine, but I would definitely recommend adopting a wrist band system since it is marketed as an exclusive area to rent and would be easier for security to identify random people. Otherwise it was a great party! Go-go dancers are a super fun plus, drinks were good, and we all had fun!
