Located on 95 acres in historic Albemarle county only 30 minutes from Charlottesville. It is perfect for your next filming project. The site is representative of the agricultural lands found in Virginia dating back to colonial times, with picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west. Minimum intrusion by modern equipment on most of the property means less post-processing to do after your shoot is completed. The property is divided into five sections: * Show Barn* Conveniently located along the driveway on the western edge of the property, our 7,800 sqft three-season show barn will be the perfect place for your base of operations. The barn has running hot and cold water, with bathroom and 110V power and Wifi/Internet access. 50A power connections are also available. Fans keep visitors cool during the warm summer months, with both interior and exterior lights for evening/night-time work. Flat grass all around the barn provides adequate parking for vehicles and other equipment. * Woodlands* Concentrated at the northwestern edge of the property are several acres of forest, parts of which date back to the mid-1700s. Creeks, streams and trails have been cut into the forest. Typical trees are willow, black, pin and white oaks, Virginia pines, cedar and maples. The trails through the forest connect the two ponds and all three hills that make up the property. * North field* Our northern field is typically used for crop growing, and is bounded on three sides by woodlands, with a 2 acre beaver pond located at the southern edge. Trails are available around and through the crop fields. * Center Field * Located in the center of the property, this field is bounded by the show barn on the west, woodlands to the east, and ponds north and south. This portion of the property also contains a log cabin used as a private residence. * South Field * The southern field contains the majority of the farm buildings and the agricultural equipment: Main barn (build 1950s, extended in 1980s) Maintenance shed (built 1950s, extended in 1980s) Hay barn (renovated in 2018) The pastures on the southern fields are mostly unpainted three-rail fences that run along the driveway and around the exterior of the fences with standard 12' metal gates. Some pastures have woven wire fences. Power poles run up the southern edge of the property and through the edge of some of the pastures. Another building, a brick-build farmhouse (built 1950s) is a private residence complete with small orchard. This part of the property is bounded by a pond and stream to the north, woodland to the east, west and south. The southern edge overlooks the floodplain of the Hardware river. * Animals available* We have a number of traditional farm animals and exotic animals that can be made available for your shoot at an additional fee. Animals available include Goats, Horses, Alpacas, and Llamas.
