We're excited to have the opportunity to share this beautifully furnished and updated home at the edge of a pond on my family's 5th generation farm in the beautiful Tualatin Valley. Pondview is located just 6 miles south of Hillsboro and 20 miles west of Portland, Oregon. From the living room, view the 7 acre pond, Mt. Hood, fields, orchards, trees and wildlife.
Welcome to Pondview! Our vacation home design is perfect for family & friend gatherings. Enjoy the peacefulness of the country just a short drive from town. View the 7 acre pond, trees and fields from the large front windows of the great room. Swim in the pond or play on the boats in the summer. BBQ on the deck. Nearby you'll find wineries to tour, shopping, theater, movies, hiking, biking, fishing and plenty of other fun activities. The beach and Columbia River Gorge are a short drive away.
We are third and fourth generation farmers living on the farm purchased in 1946 by Ric's grandfather. For many years the farm was a dairy, but the cows were sold 14 years ago. The farm now raises hazelnuts, walnuts and grass seed. The 7 acre pond was originally created in the 50's with the water used for irrigation of crops. Now it's been stocked with trout and is used for play!
This house was originally built in 1974-75 by Ric's parents. They enjoyed the house and location next to the pond for 40 years. When they needed to move to town due to age, we purchased it from them. We have extensively updated, remodeled and furnished the home to share with travelers and vacationers to our area. We feel the beauty, serenity and location of the home will be loved by our guests as much by us! With the added bonus of such a variety of activities in the local area, we know our guests will want to return again and again, and recommend it to their friends.
Pondview is a beautifully furnished and updated three level home nestled into a natural, private setting in the middle of our 300 acre family farm. This family-friendly home is easily accessible from Portland, Oregon, and can accommodate up to 11 overnight guests. The two story great room with wall to wall windows and open living design make a perfect venue for entertaining. Decks on the front and both sides of the great room expand the conversation areas.
In the great room, guests will find plenty of seating for gathering and conversation, plus a large flat screen television, propane fireplace and stunning views of our tranquil pond, Mt. Hood, beautiful gardens, orchards, rolling fields and forest through the large windows.
The dining table with comfortable seating for eight and a child’s highchair make meals pleasant. The spacious fully equipped kitchen makes preparing meals a joy. Guests will find coffeemakers, coffee, tea, dishes, utensils, dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, stove, toaster, and pantry items. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and washer and dryer. We have games to play, cards, puzzles and books to share while you are visiting.
The north deck off the living room has a propane grill and table with four chairs, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals and refreshments. The south deck has two comfy chairs for relaxing and a propane deck heater in case its chilly. Further expanding your outdoor living is the gazebo with table and six chairs overlooking the gardens, goldfish pond and tranquil pond and pier. A covered pier over the water, dock and boats are for your use!
