What sold the couple immediately on the original 1951 two-bedroom, one bath ranch was the centerpiece brick fireplace that now serves as a major focal point of the two-story open concept renovation. A Little Free Library and a prairie-style birdbath greet visitors as they arrive. Mini-slate stone paths lead to a large steel and glass front door that opens onto the foyer and extra-large open staircase. Free-flowing gatherings are a common occurrence at the home, encouraged and enabled by two large sliding glass doors that lead from the well-appointed kitchen out to the large deck and serene backyard. The couple built the large concrete block fire pit as a pandemic project, and it has seen its share of s’mores on chilly fall nights. The corner lot offers plenty of off-street parking, with three driveway spaces and a two-car garage. Back inside, the husband-and-wife team work together in the first-floor office, and the shower in the downstairs bathroom is great to have for a house full of overnight guests. The second floor is rounded out by the primary suite, two guest bedrooms, and a loft that doubles as an exercise room and cozy lounge area.
