About the Space

This is a must-see 1000 sq ft 1-bedroom loft located in North Brooklyn, featured in the New York Times in February 2024. The fully redesigned, Mid-Century-inspired space is a photographer's dream. It's filled with architectural features such as a mesh drop ceiling, reflective corrugated aluminum columns, curved walls, carpet floor inlays, pillowy pink stair walls, and custom carpentry throughout. Having been converted from a Chocolate Factory, this unit also has many typical industrial features, such as exposed piping. The space has 12 ft ceilings and North and West facing windows. Great natural light throughout the day and direct light on the dining platform during the later afternoon. Important notes about the space: 1. The building has a freight-sized elevator since it used to be a Chocolate Factory. This makes moving any heavy equipment or props super easy. It also makes the space wheelchair accessible! 2. The apartment is fully furnished. Everything except the king-sized bed and dining table can be moved within the space. We have added a sofa that is not pictured. Contact us for detailed photos of furniture. Any furniture you want to bring must be pre-approved and may require COA. 3. Noise can leak in from the street, so it's not ideal for long sound recordings. 4. There will be three cats in the space. Please make sure your team is aware of this in case of allergies. We ask that you leave them alone unless they seem eager to interact. Our cats are people shy and generally stay hidden or keep to themselves during shoots. 5. No equipment will be provided. 6. The intercom unit in the apartment unfortunately is not working. In order to get in and out, you will be provided key fobs. Buzzing the door will send a notification to the site manager, who is able to buzz people in remotely, so deliveries and such can still be made without disruption. Specific house rules: 1. Keep the door to the unit closed at all times, or have a crew member be watching the door at all times even while moving equipment into the unit. This is important because we have three cats in the space (as noted above). 2. No smoking except on the balcony. Keep the balcony door closed at all times (also due to cats). 3. Production is not allowed in any other areas of the building aside from the unit itself, as per building rules. 4. Be respectful of noise level with regard to neighbors. 5. Be generally respectful towards neighbors.
