About the Space

If you are looking for a true pure and historical Arts and Crafts Bungalow then you won’t want to miss this property located in the Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena. Recently featured on the 2016 Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Tour and 2018 Pasadena Heritage Foundation Craftsman Weekend Home Tour. Originally built, in 1911, by one of the city’s most successful architects of the day, Charles W. Buchanan truly displays pride in outstanding architectural design and craftsmanship in this historic gem. Knowing he was building this home for his brother he put all of the extra care and upgrades to make it superb. Entering the home you step back in time to see it nearly original to the day it was built. Your attention is immediately drawn to the spectacular brick fireplace. The mantle shelf design echoes that of the front door. The fireplace area is constructed as a small nook behind the arched wall above with recessed and period lighting. The dining room wainscot has wooden battens and original embossed leatherette wall covering. Other features: original wood ceiling beams, original window frames and glass, built-in sideboard w/ original hardware, bookcases, window seat, plate & picture rails, thick head casings through entire home, hardwood floors, original glass, casement windows, updated kitchen with cabinet details mimicking the side-board. New electrical, plumbing, roof and newer central air & heating system.
