David was an excellent host, exceptionally responsive. He left perfect instructions on how to access the space and the space itself was awesome. Exactly what we were looking for.

David is a very responsive host and sorted out a minor hitch on accessing the building. Our small cast and crew had a successful shoot at his studio. NB Freight elevator requires no code but you need to find it on whatever floor it was last used.

Overall, it's a great space. Beautiful as in the photos. Good communication from the host. Great price. If I were doing a photo shoot or almost anything except for video production I'd book it again in a heartbeat. A couple of things to note which I hate to say as it really is of no fault of the owners, just I do think it is useful for future renters to know ahead of time.: 1) This space did not work well for our production as we were filming an interview for a doc and there was an almost comical amount of noise from outside (perhaps poor insulation and being in an industrial area). We expected some noise as it's Brooklyn, but we were hearing everything - planes roaring overhead, loud trucks rolling by, ice cream trucks, freight elevator which shares a wall with the space. Perhaps there are quieter days then the one we had but the level of noise significantly impacted our ability to perform the interview 2) The freight elevator while super useful for gear, is a bit of an interesting animal as you had to literally find it when you needed it. As in, you have to go from floor to floor to find out where it was left because there is no way to call it - you just have to find it left open, walk in and direct it manually to where you need it to go. Not ideal for people who don't feel happy to run up and down stairs or that would need the elevator really quickly. Again, I apologize to leave anything but positivity, but I do think it's important for potential film productions to be aware of these things.
