About the Space

This heritage castle has a unique history dating from the early 19th century. Initially a prestigious private club for Canada’s business elite and more recently a private residence, this magnificent first floor space can now be used for special events and productions. (approx. 9000 sq.ft.) The castle is situated in the heart of downtown Montreal adjacent to trendy Le Plateau Mont-Royal and is only steps from a subway station. The castle’s 1st floor invites you down a wide corridor with a stately bedroom to the left and continues to a grand two story dining hall resplendent with Romanesque mouldings and French renaissance styling. (19 ft high ceiling) Add to this a wrap around exterior terrasse, full kitchen, 2nd bedroom, anteroom and you have one the most unique and resplendent interior settings in the city. The remaining floors of the castle comprise of residential luxury short term rental condos. She greeted us with a warm welcome and shared fascinating stories about the castle's history, which added a wonderful depth to our shoot. Her passion for the location was evident, and she was incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed to make the most of our time there. The castle itself is breathtaking. The architecture is a perfect blend of grandeur and charm, with intricate details that make for stunning backdrops.     L'endroit (et son décor fabuleux) était parfait pour notre shooting. Tout équipé, meubles et décor en bon état, cuisine complète où nous avons pu faire venir notre traiteur pour le lunch, etc. Un endroit clef en main comme on les aimes!
