About the Space
Intimate Lounge for events and productions. This listing is for the first floor lounge only. The downstairs lounge has an intimate, underground atmosphere (without being underground). Built in the 1890s, the historic structure has a storied past, having once served as a brothel, a bathhouse, a wire room for gambling during the prohibition era and a Polish banquet hall for 50 years. The owner has worked hard to preserve the original features of the space that have been in place since the building’s creation and give Subterranean its one of a kind character, including the iconic Tiffany & brass chandelier that hangs above the dance floor.
