About the Space
This is a historic homestead in Santa Paula on 2.09 acres. It is a cultural and architectural masterpiece. The main house was built in 1883 and is approx. 4,153 sf with 7 bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on the second floor. The basement is very spooky. Gorgeous woodwork throughout and amazing wooden staircase. Downstairs is comprised of a large foyer, formal living room, parlor, dining room, library, pocket doors and the original kitchen. The front and north side are enclosed with a seasonal porch. The historic barn built in 1885 is two story and is historically preserved. The whole property is vey photogenic. Lots of parking for car/trucks and motor homes. Enclosed metal fence with electric gate for security. Santa Paula is a great place to do film shoots with a lot of historic properties on main street. The basement is very spooky with an old puppert theater & shooting gallery. Nothing has been moved for centuries. Old wood burning furnace with two staircases. Very Cinematic. This place is unbelievable! There are so many interesting spots where to film. It's a shame that our shoot just required the barn, but still... that part was just great. Paul it's been really thoughtful and understanding. He's been the best host, great communication and he was always attentive to safety and making things easy for us in his location. I can't recommend this place enough! Besides it looks great on camera.
