About the Space
This is not a typical venue. This is Hollywood history — briefly accessible. Built in 1927 as a Knights of Columbus Lodge & Ballroom, this monumental open hall later evolved into a legendary recording space during Hollywood’s golden era. Artists documented as recording in this building include Jimi Hendrix , The Doors, and Frank Zappa The architecture remains untouched by modern over-renovation: soaring cathedral ceilings, exposed timber trusses, original hardwood floors, and a dramatic mezzanine overlooking the main floor. For a limited time, the ballroom and mezzanine are available to rent before the property transitions into a fully private scoring, podcast, and production campus. Once that happens, public rentals will end. This listing exists because you’re catching the building between eras. FEATURES • Cathedral-height ceilings • Exposed wood trusses • Original hardwood floors • Elevated mezzanine with iron railing • Natural light • Open-span layout (no columns) • Cinematic scale & acoustics IDEAL FOR • Film & TV shoots • Commercials & branded content • Fashion shows & runway • Private events & receptions • Performances & rehearsals • Art installations
