This castle is in Neudorf Valley, a 45 minutes' drive from Nelson city, in the top of New Zealand's South Island. Neudorf Valley offers rolling hills with views of the surrounding mountain ranges (which are covered in snow in winter, some years there's even some snow on the ground). The valley is home to many artisan food and drink producers, including Neudorf Vineyard, Moutere Mushrooms, the Sausage Press, and Thorvald Sheep Cheese.
This is a short drive from the region’s iconic wineries and many other attractions, including the country's oldest pub, galleries, and three National Parks.
The Mudcastle offers self-catering accommodation in a stunning location, perfect for couples seeking complete privacy or for small groups of up to 16 people wanting a unique getaway.
It is also set up as an events venue (seating up to 100 guests) and has provided an unforgettable backdrop for many weddings, family gatherings and corporate events.

The owner lives in separate quarters on the property. They will be there to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. There are 3 suites with ensuite bathrooms. Additionally, the castle features 5 bedrooms all sharing three additional bathrooms comprising 3 toilets, 3 showers & 1 bath. All rooms have fluffy robes & slippers, complimentary toiletries & towels & heating. There’s a comfortable lounge area & library.
