The perfect space for photo and video shoots (wedding, boudoir, engagement, family, etc), gatherings and creative workshops. The home is a grand Victorian Italianate mansion built in 1855 in historic New Bedford, Massachusetts. It's the former home of Herman Melville’s sister, and this is where he used to stay while visiting her. It boasts over 5000 sqft and is filled with historic architecture, beautiful craftsmanship and character. The home is divided into two sections: the Main House and the Guest Suite. The Main House has a modern-victorian look and feel. There is a large living room, dining room, billiard room, small converted butler's kitchen and powder room. This side of the home has 11.5ft ceilings, hardwood floors, 6 marble fireplaces, high-end furnishings, and loads of windows with stunning natural light. The Guest Suite is the converted servant's quarters – it is two floors with a living/dining room with kitchenette downstairs, and bathroom and bedroom upstairs. This side of the home is also perfect for photo and video shoots, however is subject to availability as it's used as an Airbnb May - December (inquire to see if it's available!) The owner, Laura, has been meticulously renovating the home since purchasing it in 2015. She is open to any creative ideas you have to use the space!
