About the Space
My log cabin is over 320yo and has been family owned all those years. The Smithsonian feels it’s the oldest flat-log structure in North Carolina and could be one of the few remaining colonial era log homes still in existence. It’s in a “hollar” and sits on a creek. My grandparents named it “Brook Haven”. You drive through a shallow creek to reach it. Approx 1 mile on a private dirt/stone lane. Parking is across the lane. Once parked, cross the wood bridge to access the cabin. The property is lush and green with terrific views. The home is historically accurate outside.
