A two-family Renaissance Revival brownstone built in 1902 by prolific Brooklyn architect Axel Hedman. It's situated on a quiet tree-lined residential street in the Crown Heights Historic District. The main house consists of a large open parlor floor with 10.5ft ceiling height and original period details, including an ornate wood staircase, large built-in pier mirrors framed with intricate woodwork and bay windows complete with original built-in shutters. The open dining room with tiled fireplace and cornicing leads into a south facing sunlit modern kitchen, with its large stone island, custom cabinetry designed with warm wood tone. The upstairs hallway is lit by a large skylight and leads to a bright south-facing primary suite with custom built-in shelving and windowed modern bathroom. In the hallway. A second large bedroom with original fireplace and a study with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves complete the floor. At the back of the townhouse is a multi-faceted garden. The private terrace off the parlor floor kitchen is built on top of a green roof. A metal staircase, covered with ivy, winds down into the beautiful yard with a custom-built seating area and teak wooden patio. (see Add-ons for pricing.) Leading from the main house to the cellar is a dramatic and moody hallway painted in Farrow & Ball’s studio green. Lastly, the cellar has a rustic ceiling with exposed beams, a concrete floor, and whitewashed walls. (see Add-ons for pricing.) The entire house is temperature-controlled with a central air system. I booked Kanwal and Yusuf’s brownstone as a film location for my client of over 10 years - a menswear catalog. The photographer filmed our male model upstairs in the primary bedroom, cool office space, living room, dining area, entranceway and kitchen. Kanwal and Yusuf are extremely helpful and organized. Their home is in great condition and the basement is a great prep space. It was perfect for 14 people. They have a beautiful collection of tabletop etc home decor. We appreciate their flexibility and trust.
