Welcome to Bordello 1923, a Parisian inspired bohemian artist's apartment. This historic DTLA Beaux Arts building, is a highly desirable corner unit within a former department store, the space offers soaring ceilings, original moldings, and architectural scale. The interiors are layered for the camera: an authentic Art Deco rug anchors the space, while a Victorian sofa, sculptural Helix tables, and swivel tulip chairs provide strong, silhouettes. Other pieces include designer slipper chairs, an iconic Rougher tulip lamp, a variety of candlesticks, barware and a curated collection of luxurious art create depth. The balance of modern pieces and Old Hollywood Deco gives the space flexibility—timeless, editorial, and adaptable to multiple concepts. Warehouse chicken-wire windows that may be opened or closed with views of a graffitied parking structure deliver gritty scenes, textured daylight throughout the day, ideal for both natural-light shoots. The high ceilings and original commercial proportions make wide frames, movement, and dramatic compositions effortless. The bedroom is especially compelling for portraits and fashion work, featuring views of the historic Eastern Columbia Building and a rare storm window sourced from Rockefeller Center in New York—an architectural detail that adds authenticity and narrative to close-up and lifestyle shots alike.
