About the Space Perched alone at the top of its own hill above Sunset Plaza and Laurel Canyon, this place has an energy that hits you the moment you arrive. Johnny Depp called it home for 8 years during his Viper Room era. Built in 1930 in a warm Nantucket style, enchanted and full of soul — the furthest thing from an empty modern box. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that slide open onto the porch or a balcony, every single window frames a view, and the open floor plan flows in one seamless loop through the entire house. A dramatic stone wall with a fireplace on one side and a baby grand piano on the other is the heart of the home. A double staircase leads up to the third bedroom and private office. Outside, at least 10 ancient towering trees wrap around the property — some still have swings hanging from their branches. Stone paths and wooden walkways wind all the way around the house. Several spots throughout the grounds are perfect for cast and crew to relax between shots. The level carport is ideal for equipment layout. A red brick path leads down to a private freestanding pool and spa with a full 360° view of canyon and city — completely hidden from the outside world. The views stretch unobstructed from the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory all the way to Catalina Island. The sunsets here are the best in Los Angeles. Just minutes from the property sits one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles — a dead end nature dirt road through the canyon, completely unobstructed and free of traffic, perfect for car shoots or walking scenes.
