This large historical home is in a desirable part of the Beaches neighbourhood with a view of Kew Beach park, the tennis courts, the lake, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. More photos available upon request! The 5-6 bedroom house (1 is currently used as a library), is spacious with lots of character and modern updates. Less than a minute away from the beach, the neighbourhood has a slow-paced, friendly vibe; a village within the city. This is the most child friendly neighbourhood in the city, with excellent schools. Everything you need can be found on Queen East: Grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, pubs, cafe, book store, cheese shop, bakeries, clothing and shoe stores. Step out your front door and there is a hockey rink (lacrosse in summer), baseball diamond, lawn bowling club, public library, public swimming pool, and 2 playgrounds, and water play. Enjoy an active lifestyle with the lake is at your doorstep as well as the Martin Goodman Trail for biking and running. The 10 court tennis club is across the street; or carry your paddle board, canoe or kayak 5 minutes for a paddle. There are several excellent elementary, middle, and high schools nearby. For nature lovers, there are ravines a walk away, or the nearby Bluffs, and Tommy Thompson Park (an urban birder's paradise) to explore. In the warmer months there are family friendly festivals and events like the Jazz Fest, and the Beaches Arts and Crafts show. The house is also close to OCAD University, downtown hospitals and Michael Garron, Metro Toronto University, and a subway ride from downtown or Scarborough U of T campuses. For movie goers, we are a walk away from the historical Fox Theatre, and in the other direction, Cineplex. The house has beautiful features (pocket doors, skylight, stained glass) and new modern appliances. The furnace, stove, and washing machine were replaced in 2025. The house includes large principal rooms and wide hallways. The large living/dining room has a working fireplace. There is 1 full 2nd floor bathroom plus a main floor powder room. From the outdoor spaces, look out onto the park from a beautiful sunny front porch, enjoy sitting on the back deck overlooking the garden, or stretch out on the second-floor balcony. The house has been family owned for over 50 years by a Toronto artist and OCAD professor. It is now owned by his daughter and her partner (teacher, language examiner) who have 3 children.
