About the Space
Midcentury split-level dated and retro house in the suburbs awaits your vision. We have a wood-paneled partially-underground groovy basement den, a Mad Men-style office space, and three original sixties/seventies bathrooms. We’ve taken care to keep all decor of the era, (except for a couple flat screen TVs). You’ll find lots of flower power, kitsch, midcentury sixties and seventies art, furniture, books, and even kitchenware. This is an immersive, quirky, vintage, thrifted maximalist environment. Clean, quiet, fresh-smelling and comfortable with plenty of natural light. Props and environments galore…we even have seventies wallpaper in a few rooms. We’re a half hour north of Chicago right off highway 41, so very easy to get to with plenty of nearby services and shopping.

This has been probably the best location I’ve been able to film in. The host was so welcoming and kind. Her personality alone made filming here so much more fun. Every detail of the house has a beautiful attention to detail and intentionality. The vibe has such a unique look with a feeling as though you are stepping back in time. The house itself was very clean and easy to move things around if needed. I highly recommend this location.

If you are looking for an authentic 70's house this is it! Even more updated with 70's appliances and artifacts than the photos show. The family was in the home while we were there which was fine for us but if you need privacy I suggest requesting it. :)
