About the Space
Norton Island is located one mile out in the Atlantic in the “Downeast,” region the northern coastal Maine. The 150-acre private island is across from Jonesport and about fifty miles up the coast from Bar Harbor. The island has approximately 3.5 miles of unspoiled shoreline. Of the islands 150 acres, about 20 acres are developed with two log homes, 8 cabins, a large shop, artists studio spaces and multiple other outbuildings. The remaining 130 undeveloped acres are mostly spruce forests with paths for walking, glacial granite landscapes with large eratics, lush moss, multiple coves, and endlessly beautiful and changing scenery. Wildlife on the island includes seals, bald eagles, fox, herons, ducks, and deer.
