About the Space

The Albert Butler House (1963) is the exemplar of high MCM style. Designed by Addison Mizner protégé Byron Simonson (the Colony Hotel and defunct Coquille Club, Palm Beach), it’s 7500 sq ft of glam. Crotched mahogany walls and carved wall divider screens, inverted ship’s prow cypress ceilings with quatrefoil skylights, indoor and outdoor soaring green marble and quartz walls from a now defunct vein, coromandel screen custom fitted around a stainless fireplace, hand pegged diagonal wood floors, octagonal dining room in Tiffany blue with bespoke starburst chandelier, concave ceiling and hand poured plaster moldings, ceiling to floor circus stripe curtains, carved teak double front doors, turquoise and malachite kitchen with colored stove, hood and wall oven. The house has been used for furniture shoots, music videos and short films. 25 ft plus ceilings, 600 amp service, whole house generator, large truck parking in both driveways, and numerous wide access points to interior.
