About the Space

Historic, two-story abandoned farmhouse with original details sitting on 5 acres of farmland in rural NC. Bring your vision to life in one of the fourteen available rooms inside. Contact host to discuss custom, non-structural modifications for additional fee (like painting walls the walls or hanging art work). Furniture and decor, original to the house, may also be available for rent. The farmhouse is surrounded by barns and other out buildings (detatched garage, chicken coop, small barn), which create an outdoor courtyard behind the farmhouse. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces have served as backdrops for family and engagement photoshoots, and fashion photos for retailers of all sizes. The 100+ year old oak trees provide both a beautiful backdrop and shade during the summer, gorgeous foliage in the fall. Adjacent to the house are two large fields. The first is adjacent to the main road, and provides an easy turn-off and parking for up to 15 cars. The second field is away from the main road, and could accommodate up to 10 people, socially-distanced, for fitness photos or outdoor filming away from the main road. This field can be accessed via a private drive. Across the street sits an abandoned dairy barn and silo, a barn made out of corrugated steel, and three small abandoned farmhouses that were last occupied by farmworkers in the 1950s. These spaces would only be available to permitted film/production studios who assume the risk of filming in these types of spaces. Finally, there is access to a small pond on the property, about a 15 minute walk through the woods from the main farmhouse. **No public restroom on site.
