About the Space

“Beat Bungalow LA” is a modest size location with five distinctive background looks: “bar”, “library”, “wood paneled wall”, “workshop”, “tropical outdoor area”. Our space works best for small to modest size still and film shoots, instructional video productions, interviews and castings. As small still photography shoots are our priority, all crews with more than 5 persons/crew members are considered only on case by case basis. Also, the scout visit is mandatory for all shoots with more than 5 persons. Cash/credit card deposit and on-site rep may be required for larger film shoots, depending on details of your shoot. The set was originally built to serve our own needs to photograph cocktails/cocktail culture related subjects in a controlled environment. Availability is always based on our own work schedule. The onsite parking situation changes often and it's never guaranteed. Located inside the second, smaller building of a private residential property, the overall vibe is more "private club" than a commercial bar. The approximately 400 sq ft (+ 900 sq ft yard with 100% privacy and separate 200 sq ft garage/workshop area). We have pre-cut, pre-hung Duvetyn black out fabrics to make the space daylight -free, if desired. Just bring enough gaffer tape to seal the sides of fabrics from the light. Hand painted textured backdrop canvases and an assortment of furniture is available for rent. There's a small rental grip gear package that includes clips, c-stands, sandbags, apple boxes etc. The gear changes often. If you need it, the price of the rental will be agreed during your scout visit, depending what the package includes on that day. We have a variety of rental bar/cocktail shoot props, such as ever changing variety of vintage ashtrays, spill mats, drip racks, cocktail shakers / barware and enough assorted glassware for approximately 100 persons. For an additional fee, the bar set can be dressed for different commercial bar looks, i.e craft cocktail, dive, etc. Regardless the size of your shoot, always message us first to find out if your shoot is right for us on your desired shoot date -the Giggster's calendar displays only reservations thru them, not our other work. We recommend reserving the space 4 - 14 days prior your shooting date to allow us to arrange our own shooting schedule accordingly. *Note that the Giggster calendar reflects mainly reservations thru Giggster -our own schedule isn't included in it. Always message us first about availability before starting the actual booking process.
