80 Acre Contemporary Resort, Forest & Meadow

About the Space

The Event venue and Glamping Resort on 80 acres. 40 acres of meadow and 40 acres of hardwood forest. The venue has our new contemporary $2M venue building with lobby/check in, wellness room, powder/green room (with professional make-up mirror and private toilet), bathrooms (4 toilets + 6 toilets), 6 showers, a bar area with a normal ceiling height and mostly wood (sourced on site) which is open to our main area with cathedral high ceilings (40 feet) that is on a wooden floor and includes a working Tulikivi Masonry Stove/fireplace finished with soapstone (LEED silver), built in a Scandinavian wood Hygge look that is neutral to any color palette (and we have tried them all), a commissary kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, a mezzanine/game room overlooking the main space, Southern exposition (SSE) and excellent light year round by design with the sun, a skylight, storage closets, 2 glamping locker rooms with charging stations, and a 1000’ sq foot apartment above with very high ceilings. The building was designed by a union cinematographer, a design team, and an architect. It has 3 phase 220 power on a close grid point that almost never goes down. It is surrounded by gorgeous valley views placed on the landscape by a top eco-designer (Ben Falk). The space is private and does not see the road or vice versa, but looks natural like one is in the middle of nowhere - yet has access to highway and city at the end of the driveway with minimal traffic noise for sound. The meadow has tree lines that can hide large production vehicles, honey wagons etc. Plenty of hidden parking and normal parking close to the lodge. The overall exterior is a balance of local “Up North” vernacular with strong Contemporary accents. There is a large concrete tent pad for outdoor events that can seat 500. Interior occupancy is 220, but we have had a fire marshal let us do 300. The tent pad next to the building is on a large (building size 78’x78’ pond with sandy beach the has a depth of 14’. The Forest has 3 sanctuaries, which are clearings often used for wedding ceremonies or business break out groups doing renewals etc. There is a large bon fire area with space for 300 and some seating. There is a First Nations “witness tree” that is still an active sacred site next to one of the sanctuaries. A Trail goes around the perimeter of the forest, and there are 32 locations for glamping tents with ~24 active in the summer each year. The 40 acres of hardwood forest is located inside of an 11,000 acre forest that is 1 mile from Big Glen Lake boat Launch and less than 10m from Lake Michigan beaches. The tent pad has doubled as a Helicopter pad on occasion and we have acquired pyrotechnic licenses for occasional fireworks displays. We have strong local network of supporting staff, materials, rentals, music, talent, etc. The owner Bryan was a union cinematographer for indie films for 22 years and built multiple production studios - designed nature to work as a great location. We have future plans to develop contemporary cabins on site as well, until then there are many close hotels and rentals for crew. Also our onsite glamping with 2 queen beds each. A unique venue, resort, glamping experience made with a design and production oriented eye.
