About the Space

This property was once the Shelburne Playhouse as part of the Hotel that burned down in the mid 1960s. The playhouse or casino as it was sometimes referred to was the gathering place for folks visiting the Borscht Belt to participate in dance classes, game nights, see a comedy show or a band play. Think Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and this is your place. Original bar is in place in the lobby. One full modern bath with shower. Easy on/off Highway 17. Nearby gas/convenience store, local hardware, grocery store, fast food, diner. New 200 amp electric service (bring your own tails to tie in) or utilize well placed outlets throughout space. Space is owned by location manager/event producers. We understand production. Building is situated on 4 acres of wooded area. Abandoned cabin in back of playhouse is available for exterior use. Abandoned swingsets behind playhouse - overgrown. Building and grounds are still being improved and any updates will be included as we go along.
