About the Space
This space is an 1891 converted church in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. This National and NY State Historic Building was converted in the early 1980's from a dilapidated structure with three walls, no windows, a flooded basement, etc. by the family that now lives there. The building is famous as being the church of the Mohawk Indians during the 1920's and 1960's. It is during this period that they are known for their construction (without safety measures) of the most famous tall structures, like the Empire State Building. For rent is the entire 2,400 sq. ft. second floor. The 1,000 sq. ft. bedroom suite and the first floor, 7,00 sq. ft. kitchen. The building has thousands of original art deco and mid-century modern furnishings and art objects. The rental space can easily accommodate 50–75 people with equipment.
