I don’t think I’ve ever a better experience with rental spaces or temporary homes than the Loft Garden Oasis. Glyn is the best host ever and not to mention he is constantly bringing new pieces to improve and update the loft and making it fresher every time I visit, new plants, new paintings, new couches, you may never know what to expect but you will never be disappointed, already planning my next visit!

5
Fantastic space right in the heart of Yaletown. Stacey's communication in advance was great and the morning of Daniel was thorough in showing us the space and we had no issues whatsoever. The tech all worked perfectly and it's a truly beautiful space. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether it's being used for personal or corporate functions. Even just using the board room alone it's great value when you compare it with renting a drab, corporate boardroom from Regus or one of the alternatives we've done in past. Thanks for the space rental, we hope to be able to use it again!

I love how they have a projector and screen available as well. Whitney is a great host! Very easy to talk to and very accommodating to our needs.

Pros and Cons of Meeting Spaces in Glasgow

Glasgow is a city that is rich in culture, history, diversity, and location. It is also a popular tourist destination for those interested in exploring Scotland’s beautiful scenery and unique local experiences, so it comes as no surprise that many people choose to host their meetings there. Below are some of the advantages and disadvantages of hiring a meeting space in Glasgow.

Advantages

  • The city has excellent transport links (airport, rail network), making it convenient for national and international guests to attend meetings.

  • Conference centres are plentiful and equipped with modern amenities to cater to any type of event or meeting needs.

  • The city has a great selection of hotels that offer competitive rates and excellent service perfect for hosting overnight events after the meeting.

  • Glasgow boasts an impressive range of restaurants and bars, ideal for socialising with colleagues after meetings or during breaks.

  • Beautiful parks such as Pollok Country Park and Glasgow Green provide pleasant outdoor spaces where small gatherings can be held for team-building activities or just reflection time away from the office environment.

  • The city is home to an abundance of museums and galleries which could be visited during lunchtime or dinner breaks as part of the cultural experience during the meeting days.

Disadvantages

  • The weather in Glasgow can often be unpredictable so extra precautions must be taken when planning outdoor events or activities.

  • Due to its popularity with tourists, hotel prices can sometimes skyrocket when visiting during peak season, making booking rooms expensive if not done far in advance.

  • It may require some additional research into local laws regarding holding large public gatherings as some areas of the city have stricter regulations than others on this matter (e.g., noise pollution).

  • Traffic can be heavy during certain times of the day making it difficult to get around quickly or easily by car or public transport.

Tips on How to Organise Meetings in Glasgow

Whether you are hosting a meeting for business or organising a gathering of friends and family, planning the space to ensure that it is comfortable and inviting can make all the difference. Setting up a meeting space with careful consideration can help create an atmosphere conducive to productive conversation and positive social interactions. Here are some tips on how to successfully organise and hold a meeting in Glasgow:

  • Choose the right setting: Depending on the purpose of the meeting, picking an appropriate venue is the key. For large meetings, consider using conference or event centres that are well-equipped for presentations, seminars, or workshops. For smaller gatherings, restaurants, local pubs, or cafes can provide a more relaxed atmosphere for discussions and socialising.

  • Invest in quality furniture: Finding comfortable seating and tables is important as it can encourage people to stay longer at the meeting and foster collaboration among attendees. Look for pieces of furniture with functionality such as adjustable chairs and tables with enough room for laptop use or presentation slideshows.

  • Take advantage of natural lighting: Natural light has been proven to increase productivity during meetings so take advantage of it when possible. When choosing a venue, look for one that offers plenty of natural light through windows or skylights which will brighten up any room while saving power costs on artificial lighting during daylight hours.
  • Utilise technology: Technology such as projectors, audiovisual equipment, conference-calling systems, and interactive whiteboards can help streamline your meeting's agenda by avoiding too much paperwork and making sharing information easier among attendees. If none of these options are available, many mobile app solutions offer similar services to help keep your meetings organised without having to invest in expensive hardware devices upfront.

  • Ensure good acoustics: Having good sound quality during your meetings is also important to prevent any misunderstandings due to miscommunication between attendees. Make sure to check your venue’s acoustics beforehand by testing out its ability to absorb sound waves like reverberation time. Venues should have enough absorptive materials such as curtains, foam panels, carpets, etc. to reduce the number of echoes heard in larger spaces which could lead to distraction from the discussion at hand.
