Yoni was so easy to work with, answered all my questions ahead of time. He helped make our Celebrations of Life for our friend a lovely experience. He was onsite before, during, cand after the event to answer questions and provide info. If you are looking for an artsy space for your event or photo shoot, you should definitely book this space.

What a great studio and engineer at this great location. We needed to do some voice over narration for a project and Walter and the team were absolutely wonderful; accommodating, courteous and utterly professional from first outreach and contact through sending over the audio files to us. I couldn't recommend this location enough (and they have a few other great location/rooms/studios as well I felt are fantastic I was looking at).

About New York

The city of New York is the most densely populated city in the United States. It has a rich history as one of the oldest cities in the country and is an international hub for culture, entertainment, and business. It has gained a reputation as a world city, next to London, Paris, and Tokyo.

In addition to its extensive museums, performance venues, and art galleries, NYC also has one of the most famous skylines in the world. New York is commonly referred to as the Big Apple, or the city that never sleeps.

The city has an area of just over 300 square miles and a population of over eight million. Millions of people travel through New York, either as tourists visiting or people just passing through. There are five boroughs that make up NYC, Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. Each one, except for Staten Island, is home to over a million residents.

Pros and Cons of Sound Stage Venues in New York

New York City might be a major entertainment center, but there are also drawbacks to using it for your next sound stage venue. Every city will have pros and cons, and the Big Apple is no exception.

Advantages

  • Diverse food scene
NYC is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and that is clear when you look at the boundless food options available. You can enjoy a number of ethnic cuisines at restaurants, food trucks, and other spots in the city.

  • Social
If you’re after a more social lifestyle then the Big Apple is one of the best places to be. It earned the nickname the city that never sleeps for a reason, and you will never run out of social activities to attend.

  • It’s safe
Safety might not be the first thing you think of when you picture New York, but in recent years it has become a relatively safe place to visit. Every neighborhood is different, but in many places, it’s even safe to walk around late at night.

Disadvantages

  • Competition
There are over eight million people living in NYC, so it’s a given that competition is going to be steep. Whether it’s about a job opportunity or booking your next venue, you’ll run into hundreds of people after the same thing.

  • Fast-paced
If you don’t like experiencing a fast-paced and busy lifestyle then New York may not be the best city for you. People are always in a rush, and most people that work in the city put in over 40 hours a week.

  • Overcrowded
Most major cities will have big crowds, especially in popular tourist destinations, but NYC goes above and beyond in this department. You can expect to face huge crowds nearly anywhere in the city and going out in a large group is nearly impossible.

Famous Locations in New York

  • Empire State Building
One of the most iconic pieces of the New York skyline is the Empire State Building. It stands at just over 1,400 feet tall and was once the tallest building in the city. It is still a famous piece of New York architecture with several observation decks where you can get an amazing view of everything.

  • Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is a famous landmark in New York that acts as a reminder of the city’s history. It expands more than a mile across the East River and offers views of several other famous landmarks. Locals and tourists visit the bridge every day, either to walk or hike across it.

  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, often just called The Met, is one of the most visited museums in NYC. There are so many exhibits and collections to enjoy that you have to visit more than once to experience it all. There’s art from ancient Egypt all the way up to contemporary and modern art.
