Very good. Only mention exterior filming if you are going to need ITC on the street because I was issued 2 police officers for an entire day and we were exterior of the loading dock and not interfering with any traffic. Police are at the rate of $100/hr. So my permit cost me more than my location fee for that day, The city of Alhambra is hard to deal with. At least 5 days.

Why Choose Giggster for Your Music Venue

Looking forward to performing on a stage where Paul McCartney once played in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, and beyond? Or maybe you want to explore other local venues and hidden gems for your next live gigs and club nights? Giggster has an excellent selection of music venues that will rival famous locales like the Barrowland Ballroom.

  • Picture a late-night New York-style basement piano bar and live music venue, but instead of NYC, we'll take you to London’s hub for arts and music events. It’s dark and dimly lit, with small tables and chairs scattered around, creating a vintage look.

  • Music lovers who are out for a relaxing night with their mates will have a wonderful time at a rooftop bar that doubles as a music venue in Liverpool. Take a break outside at the rooftop garden with comfy seating for a small group.

  • If you want to host a concert, dance rehearsal, or a private party, you can’t go wrong with Dalston’s large concert hall. It’s brand new, with modern facilities and equipment, and can accommodate up to 1,200 people for a standing event.

  • Want to keep your event small and intimate? Book a basement space with some of the best sound systems, perfect for live bands, gigs, comedy shows, corporate parties, birthdays, and more.

Choosing the Right Type of Location for a Music Event

Versatile and adaptable, music venues are now beloved spots for all types of events, from birthday soirees and reunions to concerts, receptions, product launches, and other corporate affairs. But before you book the band and send out invites, let’s figure out what kind of space will rock your music event.

  • Clubs and Bars – Hit the Dance Floor. Tired of the same old boring party in a dull location with minimal entertainment and people stuck in small repetitive conversations? Elevate the celebration in a private club or bar with great music, games, and an energetic crowd always ready to perform on the dance floor.

  • Concert Halls – Turn up the Music. With exceptional acoustics, comfy seating, and a large stage where everyone can see the artists clearly, it’s easy to see why concert halls are a favoured venue for mini-concerts and live music events. There’s also built-in lighting that not only will add colour but will also ensure the artists on stage are “under the spotlight.”

  • Theatres – Combine Music and History. Many theatres in the UK are the go-to spot for live shows, such as musicals, plays, dances, operas, and more. They come in all sizes, shapes, and features, and some are housed in Victorian and Grade II listed buildings with beautiful interiors and large columns that add to their grandeur and allure.

  • Arenas and Stadiums – For Everything Big and Major. Who says arenas and stadiums are just for sports-related events? Think of world tours and major concerts of big-name artists and musicians around the world. So, if you need a bigger stage or expect thousands of guests, you can’t go wrong with one of the arenas and stadiums in the UK.

  • Outdoor Spaces – Serenade Mother Nature. Your music venue doesn’t have to be a dedicated space with built-in tables, chairs, and lighting. It can be an open area outdoors with the beautiful nature around you. Just be sure to pick a date when it’s not too cold for an outdoor show.

Top Features to Look for in a Music Venue

Whether you’re a seasoned musician, just starting out, or simply looking for a place to gather with your mates with live music, the venue can affect how much everyone enjoys themselves. So, before you get carried away with the guest list and setlist, let’s talk about what makes a music venue special.

Does it have the vibe you want? Let's say you have a few potentials and can’t decide which one to pick. Visit them and imagine your event taking place in that venue. Does it match the look and feel you want to create for your guests? If so, then you’re at the right place.

Is it inclusive? You want to create an inclusive setting where everyone will feel comfortable and welcome and can enjoy their time. Check how easy (or challenging) it is to get in and out of the venue and if the doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and mobility aids.

Do you need more event tools? Some music venues have everything, so all you have to do is show up with your group and get ready to party or perform. Others may only provide an empty room you can decorate or with a few audio-visual tools.

How to Plan an Event in a Music Venue

Now that you know what it takes to find music venues that are perfect for your event, it's time to look into the steps to make your dream celebration happen.

Have a Goal – Planning a launch party, a fundraiser, or a showcase? Make sure you’ve got a goal in place! It’ll serve as your guide when things get hectic, and it’ll help you see if the whole thing turned out to be a success or not.

Choose a Location – You have countless music venue options across the UK, so where do you even start? From the heart of London to Belfast, Northern Ireland’s vibrant capital, Giggster can be your starting point to discover the best music venue that’s easy to reach wherever your guests are coming from.

Book Performers – You'd want popular artists or groups because they could draw in a big crowd, but that shouldn't be the only thing that matters. You’ll want to find musicians that specialise in the genre you want, appeal to your audience, and are easy to work with and within your budget.

Ensure Sound Quality – What's the point of booking a stunning music venue if the sound is unclear and terrible? It should support the music you’re playing and not ruin it.

Music Venue Hidden Costs

It’s fun and thrilling to plan an event in a music venue. But before you get lost in the excitement, it’s vital to keep an eye on the budget. Here’s a laid-back guide to the expenses you’ll want to consider when getting ready for your gig.

Have you secured the venue?

The venue's location, size, and amenities all affect how much it would cost, so a centrally located music studio in the British capital packed with modern features would be pricier than a small hall in the countryside. It’s a good move to scout out a few spots to compare prices.

Do you need extra sound equipment?

You’re lucky to get an event-ready space. You don’t have to set up anything or book outside suppliers. All you have to do is get to the location, and you can perform or start the celebration right away. For other locales, you might have to speak with local suppliers to provide AV systems.

Will you decorate the space?

If the music venue already has the look and feel you want, you probably need just a few décor pieces to polish it. But for a blank canvas space, you will need to spend more time and effort to create the setting you envision.
