Essentials for a Loft Space
Loft space must-haves depend on your preference and needs. Do you need an open space for a networking event or lighting for a photo shoot session? Here are the top features to look for in a loft apartment.
Is it easily accessible? Are you hosting a birthday party or a corporate event? Whatever the occasion, your loft venue should have easy access to amenities, public transport, and ample parking space to ensure a positive experience.
Will you need catering services? Many lofts on Giggster offer in-house catering in addition to the space. When you have easy access to food, planning various events is easy.
What about necessary amenities? Check if your loft venue has the necessary equipment for your event or photography session. Do this in advance so you have enough time for your backup plan to rent or purchase whatever is missing.
Things to Consider When Renting a Loft Venue
Advantages
-
Unlike regular apartments, loft venues have large windows and don't have many walls. This means that the space is filled with light, whether natural or artificial.
-
An open space with no walls, like a loft, lets you see what everyone is up to. This is ideal when you are cooking and want to converse with your guests or keep a close eye on kids running around the space.
-
Loft venues offer the perfect blank slate interior and a flexible layout, allowing you to transform the space into anything you'd like.
Disadvantages
-
Larger loft venues not only have a higher rental cost, but the utilities are way more expensive than regular apartments.
-
Loft apartments typically have fewer walls than traditional apartments. This could mean fewer storage areas or built-in closets, which is a challenge if you have many items to store.
-
The open space and high ceilings can cause noise issues. If you prefer quiet surroundings, good-quality soundproofing materials may be just what you need.
Getting Ready for a Loft Space Rental
There are many reasons you may need to rent a loft apartment. Perhaps you want a non-traditional venue to host your nuptials, or you are an artist looking for a space to spark your creativity. Between galleries, rooftop venues, and restaurants, lofts are often the most cost-effective solution. Here is how to plan an event in a loft space without much fuss.
Consider Catering Options – Whether you chose a penthouse, an empty open space, or a restaurant, your event could use food, no matter the occasion. A restaurant usually has a variety of food, but if you rent a private space, consider hiring catering services. Shared plates for cocktail hours or sit-down dinners for your golden anniversary are both excellent ideas.
How About Entertainment – Most loft venues on Giggster set the stage for a fun night, but you can always spice things up by hiring a performer. A comedy stand-up will help cheer everyone up, while a live music band will keep guests dancing all night long.
Dress the Loft Space – The best part about loft apartments is their versatility. Whether you want an elegant gala dinner or a wild stag do, add your personal touch and carefully selected decor to match the theme you are going for.
What Amenities Do You Need – When searching for the perfect loft space for your event, always factor in the amenities you cannot imagine the party without. Think bathrooms, catering, a Cyc wall, furniture, AV system, lighting, high ceilings—the list can go on, depending on your needs and preferences as well as the type of event.
Saving Money on Loft Events
Much like hosting an event in another venue, a loft event can be held without going bankrupt. Loft event spaces on Giggster start at just £8/hour.
Host a potluck.
There's no shame in asking guests to bring their favorite meal, dessert, fruit, or bread to your event. Assign a meal to each guest so you have a variety. Not only will you have a wide selection of food, but you will also save a ton of money.
Reduce the guest list.
It's normal to want to invite everyone to your big event, but before you put down someone's name on the list, like your new fitness instructor, for instance, think of your budget first. To reduce costs, start by reducing your guest list.
Ask guests to bring their own beverage.
There are several ways to minimize the costs of drinks. You can limit the bar to a small beverage selection, make your own cocktails and punches, or embrace the BYOB (bring your own booze) concept. Each one will save you some money.
