We've booked with Studio Bohemian for the second time this year as we loved the space so much. The first time was during summer when the days were longer, so there was plenty of natural light coming into the studio- which was great as we had a very small budget to work with. The second time was during winter so the weather wasn't as great but we still had some natural light come through. Joe was very helpful to accommodate our needs and it's been a pleasure working with him. The decor and props really make it a versatile space to work with and we found it fit the theme of our short documentary which was perfect! Would highly recommend their studio. Thanks to the team for all your help!

I had a wonderful experience filming in this venue. It’s the most beautiful chapel and a lucky find considering the location and price. It was a very slick filming process for me. Martha who was in charge that day was so lovely and accommodating and really helped make it a stress free filming day. I can imagine it’s also a brilliant location for events and exhibitions. Views that would impress any guest. Would highly recommend.

Pros and Cons of Video Shoots in London

Have you organised video shoots before? There are a few things to consider before you finalise a place for the filming.

Advantages

  • Dedicated spaces to conduct video shoots offer a controlled environment where you can manage the lighting, movement, dialogues (if any), and so on.

  • Most of the shooting rentals on the Giggster app come with the necessary amenities—changing rooms, a place for the team to set up, a separate room for equipment, and so on.

  • Indoor shoot locations help control unnecessary noise and the sounds of traffic.

Disadvantages

  • Premium and popular video shoot locations on the Giggster app get booked very quickly. You will have to reserve these locations early, or you might miss out.

  • If your chosen filming location is small or of historical value, you may face challenges moving large equipment in and out of the space.

  • Some filming rentals may have strict timelines, which means if the production increases in time, you may have last-minute stress.

What Kind of Venue Can I Rent for Video Shoots in London?

There are many ways you can successfully conduct a video shoot in London. With so many options, you can easily film in various places.

Film Studios – Production Spaces. Film studios are specially built with features like soundproofing, green screens, props, lighting setups, and so on. Book an equipped studio for one-stop filming.

Museums – Historic Locations. Historic venues always hold great significance, and London has plenty of them on Giggster. Museums have renowned artwork often featured in movies and TV series earlier, making your choice a popular one.

Penthouses – Luxury Venues. Not only can you rent a penthouse, but you can also use the different rooms and angles for a variety of shots. The incredible backdrop (often with magnificent views) has got to be the icing on the cake. With luxury venues like these, you can easily increase the production value of the film.

Homes – Lived-in Vibes. When you need to show family filming or anything with a lived-in look and feel, the house venues on our site are an ideal pick. They are fully furnished, with lovely decor that is ready for shooting. You can move the furniture around and have your pick of kitchen, rooms, front lawn, and backyard.

Outdoor Venues – Scenic Photography. You don't need to stick to indoor locations in London. The beautiful English city, with its parks, gardens, riverside areas, docks, and more, offers the best picturesque backdrops for filming. You can shoot everything from a music video to a period drama like Downton Abbey.

Planning Your Video Shooting in London

Organising a video shooting sequence in London need not be complicated. You can easily have fun while filming, help content creators, and so on when the planning is done right.

Location Scouting – Half your worries will be over with the perfect venue. On the Giggster app, you'll have a choice of 1704 popular video shoot locations in London. These do get booked very quickly, so you may want to book in advance—weeks or even months prior to the filming dates.

Prepare your Post-production – Your work will be wasted if you don't plan the post-production in a London studio. You will need editing, visual effects, sound mixing, and so on to complete your video. You can also hire local talent to add high production value to your video project.

Promote your Video – Whether a music video or an ad film, you should always work on the marketing and promotional aspects in a timely manner. If you use London's iconic landmarks as a backdrop, your work will be recognised much faster.

How to Save Money on Your Video Shoot in London

It's extremely easy to go overboard while filming in London. Since this is an expensive city, it's wise to plan your expenses properly and track all the spending.

Can you maximise the shoot days?

Instead of planning an elaborate filming with breaks and too many rest days in a week, would it be possible to make the shoot days more efficient? An organised, time-bound schedule will help you keep track of everything.

Can you batch-shoot the video?

If you have several shots or sequences of the same place, it would be best to finish all the filming of the location in one go. Avoid filming in one location, moving to another, and returning to the former for the next video sequence. Save money by finishing all the shooting requirements in the same location.

Can you hire a smaller crew?

A large crew means more accommodation, transport, and miscellaneous expenses. By keeping the crew small, you can save on the total cost. Only bringing essential talent to the filming location will help curb unnecessary expenses.
