What an amazing unforgettable experience! This place was exactly what I needed to throw a surprise bday party for my 40 year old boyfriend. The ambiance was soothing and classy. The host, Jimmy, was excellent at helping me execute my plan! He worked out small details with me and coordinated the night to go as smoothly as possible. My boyfriend had no idea. In his words “It was the best night of my life”! I strongly recommend this location and working with Nick!

The theater itself was great, but the area outside felt a bit unsafe (but that's also because we booked until late at night) and the booth to control lights and audio required you to climb up a small ladder onto an attic space. Other than that, great communication, and I got everything I needed for exactly the right price!

This venue is incredible! I hosted an intimate murder mystery in celebration of my 40th birthday and it was the perfect speakeasy setting. While the venue looked the part and was my original reason for falling in love with the space, it was completely overshadowed by the amazing staff. They went above and beyond to host us from my initial inquiry until we packed up to leave. The staff even dressed in theme. The food and drinks were also delicious. It's a hidden LA gem!

Pros and Cons of Performances in Los Angeles

With its thriving live music scene and network of creative professionals, Los Angeles is seemingly one of the best places in the United States to host a performance event. But there are a few drawbacks to consider before you take the plunge, including LA’s terrible traffic and high costs.

Advantages

  • Cultural diversity
Los Angeles is a cultural melting pot and home to people from all religious and cultural backgrounds. This means you’ll have a diversity of people to draw on to make your performance event happen, no matter what genre it’s in.
  • Diversity of venues
From fairytale-like houses to contemporary studios and ornate Spanish churches, there’s no shortage of performance spaces in Los Angeles to host your event.
  • Experienced professionals
Whether you need sound engineers, stage crew, or performers themselves, Los Angeles’ huge creative community is a bottomless resource.
  • Easy international connections
Offering flights to all corners of the globe, Los Angeles International Airport is a major transportation hub that will assist in getting performers and audience members to and from your event.

  • Sunny weather
Even if your performance is being held indoors, Los Angeles’ sunny weather adds to the city’s appeal and gives prospective audience members yet another reason to visit.

Disadvantages

  • High costs of living
Los Angeles has an incredibly high cost of living, which means hosting a performance here may cost more than it would in other major U.S. cities.
  • High costs of location fees
The city’s property prices are also very high, so you can expect to pay more for a performance venue in Los Angeles than in other parts of California.
  • Traffic
Getting from one side of Los Angeles to the other can be a slow process during rush hours, which is something to keep in mind when considering the location of your performance space.
  • Parking
Parking in the center of the city is not only difficult to find but costly and something to consider before booking a performance space.
  • Crime
While some parts of Los Angeles are very safe to walk around at night, others have high crime rates and may be best to avoid.
