About the Space
Gowanus/South Slope sun-filled, owner-occupied two-family house with plenty of space for cast, crew and equipment! The house has new cedar siding, wood floors, a large wood deck off of the kitchen, a basement, and a private garden including bluestone path, koi pond, and rear bricked area for grilling. Flexible space can be used for all types of shoots. We get you what you need and then get out of your way. The master bedroom is an extension under the deck and has handsome Andersen sliding glass doors with sliding screens to the garden. Two other bedrooms are on the ground floor (one front guest room and one dressing room with spare bed). Den/office/exercise/yoga area on ground floor sits in between the front and rear bedroom areas. There is a bathroom on each floor: one modern glass-tile master bathroom with two stainless-steel sinks and large glass-walled shower on ground level and one windowed Southwestern-style bath with terracotta-tile floor, jacuzzi tub and small shower stall on parlor level. The parlor floor living room is open to the large kitchen with dark wood cabinets and Wolf range (with pot-filler between range and hood). There is also a basement with laundry, shelves, disconnected boiler, tankless water heaters, work table, and a hatch that opens out to the rear garden. Under the basement stairs is an additional storage nook. The previous owners were a carpenter and an interior designer who renovated this turn-of-the-century home with an emphasis on light/ windows, air circulation (ceiling fans in every room), and details like decorative tin ceilings, reclaimed wood, and exposed brick. It is eclectic, mixing historic and modern touches, with an overall feeling of warmth and connection to the outdoors. The garden is at the East end of a row of gardens, and gets great afternoon/evening sun. Since there are no windows on the neighboring (South and East) businesses' walls, and no other decks nearby, this space offers unusual privacy and quiet.

The place is also gorgeous with versatile layouts - we were able to shoot a couple of basement scenes, scenes in the living room, some bedroom scenes, as well as a scene on the balcony.
