About the Space
Nestled in the woods on the grounds of a historic mid-century gem, enjoy the elegant and secluded setting surrounded by nature with a rolling meadow, towering trees and a variety of evergreens. Wake up to the sound of birds and cozy up in front of the wood burning stove with a hot cup of coffee. This charming two-bedroom cottage with vaulted, beamed ceiling, field stone fireplace & wood stove, is a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of city living. The space The main area of the cottage consists of a living room with a pool table, a sofa, and two seats nestled by a wood-burning stove, fireplace, and a full wall of windows that look out onto the surrounding woods. Framing the fireplace are twin bookshelves with built-in lights on both sides, providing the space an added level of coziness and comfort. Additionally, in the corner of the space is a bar with the original, classic stools and beautifully lit shelves. Adjacent to the living room is a fully equipped kitchen, providing the opportunity to cook the perfect meal. Branching off from the living room is the first full bathroom. It is equipped with a large luxury shower complete with a rain shower head, six body sprays and a full wall mirror. Also coming off the living room are the two bedrooms with a jack and jill full bathroom located between the two rooms. Consider the cottage to be your home away from home. During your visit, please feel free to play at the pool table, or relax over a board game, read a book or have a quiet cup of coffee or tea. The kitchen is fully equipped, if you'd prefer to cook instead of eating out, then the option is always there! Guest access Situated on a breathtaking piece of land nestled in the hills of Northborough, Massachusetts, the home named Whipsuppenicke is a sight to behold. The cottage was built on a very special piece of land that was occupied by Native Americans and European settlers hundreds of years ago. History tells us that the property was formerly part of the Marlboro Plantation in 1656. Although the home that now exists was built hundreds of years after the native inhabitants of the land moved on, the site still carries the original beauty that was enjoyed by the people who lived there long ago. Despite its secluded location, you would never guess that you're only 2 miles from the town center. Northborough boasts one of the largest grocery stores in New England, Wegmans, with additional shopping opportunities all conveniently located at the Northborough Shopping Plaza. Additionally, there is a train in the next town that will take you directly into Boston, though it is a 40 minute drive if that is more your cup of tea.
