This farm location is perfect for a period or modern Western photoshoot or other event. The cabin is isolated, along a private river - with two cabins (one old log cabin and one modern cabin with industrial and Scandinavian design elements). It is in Cundiyo, NM - 24.8 miles North of Santa Fe, NM on highway 84/285 then highway 503. Cundiyo is a unique, secluded Northern New Mexico farming community. Subject property is a traditional farm. The Rio En Medio runs through the property. A wonderland series of grass pastures/meadows are flood irrigated from the river via traditional Acequias. There are sturdy footbridges over the creek. There are fruit trees and grass, glades of oak trees and stands of cottonwood. The banks of the creek are shaded by Alder and Willow trees. There is a simple treehouse and a zipline near one young orchard. By the river is a simple, old A-frame, log cabin that has a porch for shade. The structure is simple and rustic and used for storage. It has an accompanying outhouse.
The subject property, 18 acres along the Rio En Medio - enjoys quiet and privacy, occupying its own stretch of the river valley from ridge to ridge. Sides of the canyon are very steep and impressive, having bouldering and rock climbing features, large chimneys of hard rock - granite/quartz/mica metamorphic impressive outcroppings and shadows, spectacular views and sunrises/sunsets. The canyon is so private, from much of it you cannot see another light from any other structures at night. Dry land on the property is sandstone and red soil with sage, pinon and juniper.
