About the Space

We are a large Victorian structure surrounded by a grassy garden. The house was built in 1891 by a banker called ROGGENKAMP and has all its original ornate moldings, copper downspouts and a beautiful rounded porch in front. The roofline sports a few widow-walks and all the typical Victorian era fancies and gingerbread. All rooms on the bottom floor have very high ceilings (around 14 ft) and original woodworking but are painted bright . The woodworking is very fancy and detailed. The kitchen has a spectacular tin coffered ceiling. The kitchen is a chefs kitchen with a large VIKING stove and subzero refrigerator with lots of space to Prep. The rooms are open and airy (unlike most Victorians) with a picture window bench. There are two working gas fireplaces one small in the parlour and one large in the dining room. Use of all areas are available including the kitchen for preparation of food. The second floor is all dormer ceilings. Upstairs sports three very interesting bedrooms with an added study with bookshelves. One room has silk padded Chinese printed walls and ceilings. One bedroom is all curves and flowers with large double hung windows. Two of the rooms hold Victorian stained glass. Also the upstairs has a small modern bathroom with a shower all in agate stone. There is a painted mural running up the stairs to the second floor and hallway depicting features of the city of Redlands and its renown orange groves. We also have some spooky areas located in the attic and under the raised foundation available for shooting. PLEASE SEE PICTURES ATTACHED

Had the pleasure of booking at this truly unique house that we used as a filming location for our upcoming movie “that one summer”. The home is brimming with character, and every corner has a story to tell. The house itself is immaculately maintained, It perfectly combines charm with modern comforts, making it a memorable and relaxing experience. The host was incredible—so kind and attentive throughout our shoot. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a chance to live a piece of cinematic history. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Joyce is an outstanding host. She has such kind energy and allowed our guests to explore all areas of the house. She catered to our every need and was truly so friendly. Joyce’s home is absolutely amazing to say the LEAST. My husband and I decided to have our baby sprinkle (small baby shower) there on September 7th based on the beautiful pictures provided online. This home is even more magical in person. The Victorian, garden, and artsy aesthetic fit our needs perfectly. It actually feels like a historic museum upon entry (that’s what all of our guests said as they arrived). The front yard and backyard space is abundant and gorgeous with lots of shade. Our event was a major hit and it was because of the character of this home. The artwork, finishings, and the greenery are unmatched. If we have any events in the future we would definitely book again with Joyce. Trust me, Joyce and her home will exceed your expectations! She is so accommodating and will make you feel very comfortable in her home!

Joyce has been an absolutely amazing host, demonstrating remarkable flexibility and genuine hospitality throughout the entire venue process. The venue itself is a stunning oasis, enveloped in lush greenery and exuding a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made our small wedding truly magical. Guests found ample street parking with ease and were captivated by the enchanting surroundings. The historical house, adorned with exquisite details, created a warm sense of home away from home, and provided the perfect backdrop for breathtaking photos before the ceremony. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this venue without hesitation. The combination of the beautiful house, picturesque scenery, and Joyce’s exceptional hosting made my dream wedding a reality. Thank you, Joyce! I hope we can host another event here in the future to relive this wonderful experience.

This house is gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice! I couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate a 40th birthday party. Everyone was complimenting the unique interior of each room. Joyce was a very welcoming and friendly host too. I highly recommend this place.
