About the Space

This charming boutique building was formerly home and recording studio to the Beastie Boys in their early career. This is a 1,666 sqft, column-free dance studio lined with a full wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors, hardwood floors, and two back rooms with one-way windows that allow parents or instructors to observe during class. There are also windows allowing for fresh air and a view of Sara Roosevelt Park. Elevator building. Available for all types of dance and fitness: salsa, tango, hip-hop, ballroom, zumba, yoga, and group activities that complement our vision for a flourishing collaborative space within the visual and performing arts community. The space may also be used for events such as baby/bridal showers, intimate gatherings, workshops, birthday parties, yoga/meditation room, and a holding area for cast/crews. If additional space is required, there are other studios on the floor and in the building that can be rented for check-in, breakout or storage areas. We are located on Chrystie Street (between Canal and Hester), directly across from a park. It's a short 2-minute walk from the Grand Street B/D express trains and half a block from Canal Street which has access to numerous subway lines including J/Z/6/N/R/Q/W/F. Easy access via the Manhattan Bridge to/from Brooklyn. Chrystie Street has a bike path with several Citibike stations nearby.
