About the Space

43 acres of rolling high desert foothills, sharing the sloping side of a lava rock butte, and containing 75-150ft tall rock features. Unobstructed views of the canyon below stretching out to San Jacinto, Sawtooth and San Bernadino ranges. Ancient juniper, Joshua Trees, yucca, sagebrush, buckwheat and cacti cover the hills and valleys. Quail, hare, tortoise, roadrunner, hummingbird and more all share the space. The modernized main home sits at the foot of a 150ft tall rock jumble. - Three sets of french doors connect the outdoors with the home's open floorplan and 14ft tall vaulted ceilings - Chef's kitchen has a beautiful Bertazonni range, wine fridge, pull-out fridge, dishwasher, farm sink & disposal, pots & pans, enough dishes to feed 16. - Beds feature Restoration Hardware linens and plentiful pillows. - Bathrooms features custom brass fixtures, rain shower, Travertine tiles. - Outdoor Grill. - The house has a surrounding overhang that creates shaded relaxation areas all day. Enjoy a nap in custom hammocks & outdoor beds; the record is 4 naps in one day. - Essentially we tried to make it an incredibly cozy home in the middle of nowhere. The studio is a separate structure with 12ft tall ceilings, and large picture windows facing the 150ft rock jumble. This space is open and can be setup for recording, staging, etc. The walled garden is an area designed for native plants and tents, that is protected from high desert winds by 7ft stucco walls. The trusses allow for tenting single sections, or the entire structure. Plumbed with water for irrigation. The entire property is ~2 miles down a sandy desert road, but easily accommodates a 16' Box Truck. This 40 acres is completely off grid - solar and well - the only thing you can hear when you step outside is the wind kicking up the canyon. Completely hidden from public view, this location offers total privacy. Film permits are free through Kern County with three days notice. Our location is pyro, animal and stunt friendly, with the proper permits & safety personnel.
