The Fishing is a charter sturgeon fishing and/or river tour/filming support jet boat service based in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The boat is operated by a seasoned captain and can be used for fishing, general tours, filming support. Guests staying in the Downtown Vancouver area can make the 15 minute trip to the pickup location in North Vancouver using taxi (about CDN$25) or SeaBus (CDN$4.50). Guests with vehicles can travel to other pickup locations arranged with the Charter Captain.
Charter fishing is in 4 hr, 6 hr, or 8 hour trips on the scenic Fraser River, and lower Pitt River. Jet boat only tours can be on those rivers and Pitt Lake other rivers or lakes such as Harrison River or Harrison Lake including to the Harrison Lake Hotspring.
Charter sturgeon fishing is best from March 15 to Nov. 15th with peaks in April and Late July to end of October and is combined with citizen scientist participation in capturing, measuring and tagging and photographing the fish for scientific purposes. Guests help with the capture and measurement, recording of data and will be provided with natural history information. This is especially geared for anglers aged 8 and older and students wanting to explore careers in environmental science and fisheries. Generally up to 4 Adults or two parents and two children will appreciate a day on the water.
River trips may also stop at one of several riverside pubs for an excellent lunch. Summertime may also have beach stops for swimming or other water based activities.
Filming support can be for transport to and from river based locations or support of film crew. The boat has steel rails where equipment can be attached.
