About the Space
Welcome to the world-renowned East Austin Bamboo Hideaway. This industrial/modern art-filled home has 9+ years of five star reviews as a vacation rental. I once got to host the architect, who shared a wonderful story about how the builder “ruined” the floors, allowing leaves to blow onto the wet concrete - the result being incredible, one-of-a-kind, leaf-stamped stained concrete floors! I have made several fun improvements to the property over the years, including the addition of a custom outdoor shower and bathtub (Texas-style! Aka horse trough), fun light sculptures, and a lifetime of my favorite art from local and international artists. The house and balconies are trimmed in steel, with corrugated metal siding, and concrete siding painted in an exciting bright green. The private yard is surrounded by a tall cedar fence, and professionally landscaped by a local pro. I am brand new to production and corporate event hosting, and so look forward to learning and accommodating you, your project, or your company. I pride myself on meeting clients needs, and so if something special is desired or required, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do! I once swapped a queen bed for a new king bed, because a prospective guest asked. Given the listing is brand new, I am totally flexible on pricing, guest number, etc. Please include the following information with your inquiry: * What do you plan to use the space for? * Which areas of the property are you interested in using? * Do you have insurance? * Do you plan on getting a permit? * How many attendees are expected? Adults/Children? * Number of vehicles, and size of vehicles if commercial. * Please disclose breed and size of any pets attending. This is a great place to host an event or to stay the night. We hosted our daughter and her friends for a birthday/election watching party. The space (a back house on the property) was perfect, with good mingling spaces inside and in the surrounding garden areas/patio. The kitchen island opening to the main space is perfect for serving a crowd (we brought everything cooked and warmed it up). The open floor plan allowed for a party crowd to fit comfortably but the space is cozy enough to be perfect for a weekend getaway. The upstairs bedroom has a sitting porch right outside the door. Kyle is easy to work with. A great host for a great spot. Finally, the location is wonderful. Seven blocks off I-35 but a world away, tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood two blocks from the river. We didn’t have time to try them but the two restaurants less than a block away looked good. Can’t say enough about the spot. Thank you, Kyle.
