About the Space

The venue is a chess school and club founded and run by one of the best coaches in the United States, Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy. Grandmaster Dlugy worked with World champions Anatoly Karpov and Garry Kasparov and is himself a former World Junior Champion. His small group classes are focused on improving kids and adults chess as quickly and effectively as possible by giving them special exercises to immediately begin competing with each other. This process energizes the students best, getting their creativity to its peak potential, which leads to improvement in thinking patterns. For little kids who are just starting out, the Academy offers some of the top instructors in the New York area with over 20 years of experience each in teaching kids chess through fun stories and games. The Academy organizes tournaments on weekends and Tuesdays to help kids and adults practice what they learn and get an official U.S. Chess Federation rating, which will track their progress. Open daily. Production booking accepted preferably, 7pm onwards.
