About the Space
Hello! By day we're a coffee shop and bookstore on the South Side of Chicago. Tucked away in an idyllic brick building, Build's indoor space and outdoor patio are ideal for meetings, parties, workshops, performances, screenings, and summer BBQs, and more. In total, there is approximately 1450 square feet of rentable space, including our outdoor patio. The patio is approximately 950 square feet and can comfortably seat 50 people for a seated dinner, 75 for a cocktail style gathering. The indoor space is about 500 square feet and can comfortably seat 20 at tables, 40 seated for a presentation, or 50 standing. We offer on-site pastries and beverage service (coffee and teas), or allow outside catering.

Build Coffee provided the perfect space and vibe for our son's college send-off party with family and friends. Despite the very hot temperature we were able to use the outside patio that was well shaded and appointed with seating. Sterling was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Please note Build is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so if you send a request or message during this time you will not receive a response until Tuesday. Outside of those times, they were very responsive to reservation requests and messages. I highly recommend Build, and will definitely use for future small events.
